Educational E-Courses

The STEAM4LIFE educational e-courses for higher education educators and industry leaders are designed to educate and support users so that they are able to encourage their students, especially women, in interacting with the STEAM fields.

The specific objectives of the educational e-courses are:
- To equip industry leaders/professionals and higher educators with theoretical skills that will help encourage students to continue their passion for STEAM.
- To improve the knowledge and skills of higher education institutions on how to encourage female students' interest in STEAM and emerging technologies.
- To reach as many industry leaders/professionals and educators as possible to encourage women in STEAM careers.

The following results are available:
- Access to the open source Learning Management System [LMS], Moodle, hosted by the project partner University College Dublin [please link to the partner entry on the website]: https://arete.ucd.ie/. The server and LMS was originally set up for the Horizon 2020 project ARETE and include several STEAM courses.
- Through this portal, users can find course information and materials, participate in learning activities, use assessment tools to evaluate their performance and communicate with other industry leaders or educators.
- 2 e-courses with 4 interactive learning modules, each with gamified features, including various resources and short quizzes. For both courses, you can register at: https://arete.ucd.ie/

Module Topic 1
Industry vs. higher education skills in STEAM from the industry perspective

STEAM and gender equality: needs, realities, and gender inequalities in STEAM from the industry perspective

Formats and models of collaboration between industries and higher education institutes to mobilise women in STEAM from the industry perspective

Mentoring as an efficient approach to address the gender gap in STEAM

Both courses comprise the following components:

  • the e-learning section, which displays the e-course material
  • the e-service, which provides members with access to a common repository and communication features to facilitate mentoring sessions, networking opportunities for stakeholders through discussion threads, etc.
