E-Learning Environment and Open Educational Resources

The STEAM4LIFE e-learning environment and open educational resources (OERs) consists of training materials, tools, a gender-oriented career simulator for students and relevant open educational resources (OERs).

The main objectives are:
- To provide the target audience with quality materials (training plans, learning materials, etc.) on how to address gender equality in STEAM in higher education and to promote STEAM careers for women in the future.
- To provide free resources to increase women's participation in STEAM education and support them in building their careers.
- To improve women's digital literacy and encourage their participation in STEAM and emerging technologies.

The following results are available:
- An e-learning environment has been created using the Moodle learning management system. It provides access to 18 lecture plans, all developed learning materials, a gamified online career simulator, theoretical frameworks on gender equality and links to various OERs on emerging technologies, coding, robotics and how women can get involved. Registration is completely free at https://elearning.steam4life.eu and allows you to track user engagement.
- The Interactive Career Simulator has been developed to encourage women to make choices in a friendly environment and to see some possible career paths or engagements they can have in the STEAM fields. In 8 different narrative and visualised scenarios, women are asked to make choices in gender relevant situations that have a direct impact on the continuation of the story.
- A collection of OERs has been identified that include useful materials for educators, such as readings, videos, extracurricular activities, etc., to support them in talking about women in STEAM education and promoting female role models who make women feel particularly empowered to engage in STEAM activities and careers.
